FAME Festival – 2009 Brisbane.

The Management Committee of Mandolins in Brisbane has been working hard on the formation of a framework for our Mandolin Camp/Festival from July 5-12th 2009 and we are happy to announce the following:-

Keith Harris has indicated he is excited at the prospect of being an integral part of the festival and we are sure he will fire us all up with enthusiasm so that we can continue to build on the technical know-how Adrian Hooper insisted on during the Sydney Festival. We look forward very much to working with Keith to produce another fun/fantastic festival. Remember a temperature of 24 degrees Celcius is just another average day in July in Brisbane.

As mentioned at the AGM in Sydney, we have a "pencilled" accommodation booking at St. John's College, which is part of the University of Queensland and ideally situated on the Brisbane River. We have been assured there will be a brand-new block open in 2009 with 9 en-suites rooms, plus 32 single rooms sharing a bathroom & toilet between 2 rooms plus 165 single student rooms.

A "pencilled" reservation for the end-of-Festival Concert on 11th July, has been made at the St Johns Cathedral, Anne Street, Brisbane.
